Visit the Northwestern Knowledge Base for more information about Duo multi-factor authentication. 

1. Make sure you have the device you're registering available. If that device is a cell phone, make sure you have adequate cell phone coverage in your location.

2. If you're registering an Android or iOS device, go to Google Play or the iOS App Store and install Duo Mobile.

3. On your computer, open your browser and go to https://www.northwestern.edu/mfa-register

4. Log in using your NetID and NetID password.

5. Press Begin Registration and follow the step-by-step instructions. Note that once you start the registration process, you cannot stop!

    a. To register your smartphone, you will be guided to download the free Duo Mobile app, activate the app from a text message, and approve a test login.

    b. To register any other phone, you will be guided to answer a phone call and press any button on your phone to approve a test login.

NOTE: Multifactor authentication is required for NU Library login.
